Patron Code of Conduct
The use of the William H. Hannon Library is primarily to meet the research and information needs of the students, faculty and staff of the University. The library has developed the following policies and asks for your cooperation in adhering to them, as a courtesy to library patrons and employees.
- Do not disturb the research and study of other users.
- Do not tamper with or damage University resources and property, or otherwise engage in acts of vandalism.
- Do not hamper the work of Library staff.
- No Smoking, alcoholic beverages, open beverage containers, or food other than dry snacks are allowed in the Library. See Library's Food and drink policy for futher details.
- Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a guardian or parent, who is responsible for ensuring that children adhere to library policies.
- Animals are not allowed in the library, with the exception of Service Animals.
- No sleeping in the library.
- Only LMU students, faculty, andstaff are allowed in the Information Commons of the Library during late night and weekend "After Hours". When normal library services shut down for the night, Public Safety officers may check patrons for a valid LMU OneCard.
- These rules will be enforced by the LMU Department of Public Safety.
- Visitors are limited to minimal assistance from library staff at the Information Desk so that staff are free to help LMU students, faculty, and staff.
