Brother Henry, F.S.C., of the De La Salle Institute in Napa, California, was responsible for the creation of this collection, which consists of early California mission registers on 35mm microfilm reels.
Collection description
The Brother Henry, F.S.C., Microfilm Collection of Early Roman Catholic California consists of microfilm reels of early California mission registers that a Brother Henry, F.S.C., of the De La Salle Institute in Napa, California, filmed. Brother Henry began the project sometime in the late 1960s and continued microfilming registers into the 1970s. Mission registers include Baptismal (Bautismos), Burials (Difuntos), and Marriages (Matrimonios) Registers. Presently only Series One, Los Angeles Plaza Church, is open to researchers. The collection overall will be arranged by each mission on the series level. The dates of the content of Series One (the Plaza Church) found in the microfilm reels range from 1826 to the 1970s.
