More, Thomas. De optimo reip. statv deqve noua insula Vtopia... Novembri 1518
The two 1518 editions of Utopia were printed by Johann Froben, the celebrated printer of Basel, who was also printer - and friend - of Erasmus. Froben was an early patron of Hans Holbein, who later journeyed to England to render the famous portraits of Thomas More and his family, Henry VIII, Jane Seymour, and others.
The March 1518 Utopia is illustrated with woodcuts by Ambrosius Holbein, the older brother of Hans. Hans Holbein designed the woodcuts in the later 1518 Utopia of November.
