Friends of the Library

Evolving with the changing academic and information resources needs of modern society, the library at Loyola Marymount University seamlessly blends superior collection depth, leading edge technology and expert support staff to deliver the world’s information to our students, faculty, and community. Today’s academic library supports the pursuit of knowledge and promotes connections between those who create knowledge and those who use it for scholarly pursuits.

The Friends of the Library organization provides needed financial resources to further the academic excellence of the library and the richness of its information resources. Contributions help with the acquisition and maintenance of rare special collections and archival materials, works of art, specialized circulating collections, and more.

All supporters of the library and its information resources are eligible for annual membership. The following giving levels and benefits will help you decide how your generous gift may serve the university and your personal interests:

Collectors Club $2,500 or more
Members at this premier level receive all of the Friends of the Library benefits outlined below plus an invitation to exclusive activities and cultural events with the Dean of University Libraries.

Scholars Circle $1,000 to $2,499
Members at this important level receive all of the benefits below plus a limited edition pictorial book on the history of Loyola Marymount University.

Authors Circle $500 to $999
Members at this generous level receive a library card with limited privileges, advance notice of special library events, and a set of note cards depicting selected works form the university collection.

Researcher $250 to $499
Members at this level will have a commemorative bookplate placed in a selected volume in their honor.

Bibliophile $100 to $249
Members at this level receive a distinctive library bookmark, mouse pad, or other gift, online access to EBSCO's alumni editions of Academic Search Premier and Business Source for the current academic year.

Supporter up to $100
Members at this level contribute to the ongoing excellence of the library and are listed in the library annual report.
