ERIC

Problem: All full-text PDFs at the ERIC site (http://www.eric.ed.gov) are unavailable.

Status:

  • The vendor is aware of the issue and are working to resolve it. The problem began on August 6 and there is no expected date for correction.
  • 9/3/12: Eric Documents (ED) full text links lead to the following message: "A limited number of ERIC full-text documents are available at this time due to privacy concerns about information contained in some of the collection. Although the documents in ERIC had been publicly available in microfiche for many years, the advent of the Internet has amplified the possibility that someone could make improper use of information in these ERIC documents. We are seeking to restore access to documents as soon as possible."

Workaround: Contact a librarian for help accessing full text through another means.

  • Since ERIC documents are also held on microfiche, they can still be requested through Interlibrary Loan.
  • If you would like to request a PDF (ERIC Document) to be returned online, please email ERICRequests@ed.govwith the record number (such as ED263102). Documents will be returned on a rolling basis and may take several weeks.
