Undergraduate Borrowing Privileges

Most undergraduates receive the following borrowing privileges. Exceptions include University Honors Program students and library student assistants, who receive semester-long borrowing privileges.

Books

  • Checkout period: 3 weeks
  • Number of renewals allowed: 2
  • Renewal period: 2 weeks
  • Overdue fine: $0.25/day
  • Item replacement fee: $65.00 + $15.00 processing fee

LMU students are also eligible to check out books from other libraries using LINK+ and ILLiad.

Media

  • Checkout period: 7 days
  • Number of renewals allowed: 1
  • Renewal period: 7 days
  • Overdue fine: $1.00 day
  • Item replacement fee: Variable

Basement journal checkout

  • Checkout period: 3 days
  • Number of renewals allowed: 1
  • Renewal period: 3 days
  • Overdue fine: $0.25/day
  • Item replacement fee: $65.00 + $15.00 processing fee

Basement in-house reference books

  • Checkout period:3 hours in-library use
  • Number of renewals allowed: 0
  • Overdue fine: $0.25/hour
  • Item replacement fee: $65.00 + $15.00 processing fee

Checkout Limits

  • Media: Maximum of 3 item at a time
  • Books and journals: Maximum of 20 items at a time

Reserves

Equipment

Undergraduate students may check out equipment (laptops, cameras, cables, chargers etc.). For more information about available equipment and equipment loan rules, see Tech On 2 @ the Library.

Recalls

Undergraduate student borrowers are eligible to request recalls on checked out materials. Please refer to the Library FAQ. All items checked out are subject to recalls per the library's Recall Policy.

Off-Campus Access to E-Resources
