Grant awardees are expected to commit to the project through December 2025:
Year 1 (May – December 2023)
- Learning about, finding, evaluating, and curating OER
- Developing project plan for years 2 and 3
Year 2 (January – December 2024)
- Developing and publishing OER
Year 3 (January – December 2025)
- Integrating the OER into one or more courses and assessing their effectiveness
Grant recipients are accountable for the following:
- Participate in a two-day virtual OER faculty workshop to connect with fellow grantees, learn the basics of OER, and discuss project ideas
- Meet with the OER Librarian and OER Liaison from your institution to confirm project, timeline, and implementation plan
- Check in with OER Librarian quarterly or more frequently as needed to report progress
- Meet established deadlines for deliverables in order to receive annual grant payments
- Create OER for use in the proposed course or courses before Fall 2025 that:
- Integrates or expands concepts or principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and/or social justice into the course or discipline
- Uses technology in service of inclusive pedagogical practices
- Publish new or derivative OER under a Creative Commons license and adhere to W3C accessibility standards
- Work with OER Librarian and OER Liaison to expand the reach of the project beyond home institution
- Share any new or derivative OER in multiple OER repositories (e.g., Pressbooks, OER Commons, Merlot)
- Share OER and/or promote the project through disciplinary or professional networks
- Agree to having your participation in the grant and project output featured through the university, library, or other promotional venues
