Pick up items requested in advance at the Circulation Desk
If you would like to pick up your items at the library Circulation Desk, start in OneSearch. The item will have a link to Request in the “Get It” section. Sign in with your MyLMU account to place a hold. Once the hold is ready to pick up, you will receive an email. This process typically takes less than four hours during our operating hours; basement storage requests may take up to 1 day. Items will be held at the Circulation Desk for 5 days.
Students and faculty 25+ miles from campus: get books mailed to your home
For students and faculty who live more than 25 miles from campus and within the United States, we offer mail delivery of most library books if an e-book is not available. Please plan for 5-10 days for mail delivery. You will be responsible for paying for return postage and for loss or damage in transit. If you are sometimes on campus, you are welcome to return books to the return bins around campus.
We encourage those coming on campus to bundle their requests and use the request option to pick up holds at the library whenever possible.
You can request available books from the Main Stacks and Basement Storage locations. We cannot mail DVDs or items with a short loan period. If you only need a chapter from a book, consider requesting a scan instead. Your library record must be in good standing.
To request a book for mail delivery, first make sure that the book is available in the library catalog and in one of the locations authorized for mail delivery. Sign in to OneSearch and select the "Mail Delivery” link, then complete the request form with your contact information and the book information. We will update you by email on the status of your request.

LMU students, faculty, and staff can request digital copies of articles and book chapters via ILLiad, by using the Article or Book Chapter request form. Documents will be delivered to your ILLiad account.

What is the turnaround time?
Item requests for pickup at the Circulation Desk will take less than four hours during our operating hours. Items requested for mail delivery will take an estimated 5-10 days to arrive at your mailing address. You will receive an email to confirm when the item has been mailed.
