Semester Borrowing Privileges

LMU undergraduate and graduate students and Loyola Law School students (when visiting the Westchester campus) receive semester borrowing privileges.

Check-Out Limits

  • Books and journals: Maximum of 20 items at a time for undergraduates and 50 items at a time for graduate students
  • Media: Maximum of 3 items at a time

Books

  • Check-out period: To the end of the semester
  • Number of renewals allowed: 2
  • Renewal period: 1 semester
  • There are no overdue fines for books from the general collection. However, there is a replacement fee for lost, damaged, or unreturned books.
  • Item replacement fee: $65.00 + $15.00 processing fee
  • Books in some collections are subject to separate borrowing rules. For more information see the borrowing policies for the Popular Reading Collection and Curriculum Materials Collection.

LMU students, faculty, and staff are also eligible to check out books from other libraries using ILLiad.

Media

  • Check-out period: 7 days
  • Number of renewals allowed: 1
  • Renewal period: 7 days
  • Overdue fine: $1.00/day
  • Item replacement fee: Variable

Basement journals

  • Check-out period: 3 hours in-library use
  • Number of renewals allowed: 0
  • Item replacement fee: $65.00 + $15.00 processing fee

Basement in-house reference books

  • Check-out period: 3 hours in-library use
  • Number of renewals allowed: 0
  • Overdue fine: $0.25/hour
  • Item replacement fee: $65.00 + $15.00 processing fee

Equipment

Recalls

Semester borrowers are eligible to request recalls on checked out materials. Please email circulation@lmu.edu. All items checked out are subject to recalls per the library's recall policy

Off-Campus Access to E-Resources

Only faculty, staff, or enrolled students at LMU's Westchester campus may access e-resources remotely. Owing to the license agreements we sign with the vendors of these products, they are not available to other users of the library. For more information, see Off-Campus Access @ the Library.
